It all started in 2010, when Paul left the east coast and moved to Humboldt county in Northern California.

While there he enjoyed creating new cannabis genetics, and partnered with the true pioneers of CBD, Sohum Seeds and the Ringo family.  Together, and along with another non-profit, they created one of the first extraction companies really dedicated to the plant as a medicine. 

In this company they gave free extracts to patients and support to families who had children going through cannabis treatment, and also distributed to dispensaries throughout California.

Throughout his career in cannabis, Paul has always been involved in working with patients which has always pushed him to develop new products and take an interest in rare genetics.

In the last years since 2018 farm bill approved CBD in all state Paul saw the opportunity to make product that can help and also can be accessible to more people. Since then he formulated and experimented in creating variety of products to help specific conditions. With the help of his wife Meitar, who is a creative mind and  a graphic designer they create HILA, so they can spread their knowledge and share with more people the real benefits of the hemp plant.
